Microsoft Prepare for Mobile Phone Market Comeback

It seems that Microsoft has not completely given up on their version of Windows 10 for smartphones. There are rumours that they are working on a totally new version of the mobile operating system.

Unfortunately for Microsoft, they don’t have a good track record when it comes to competing with Google and Apple in this area. When the level of Windows Mobile devices stagnated at less than 1% of the global market share, they decided to withdraw from the consumer smartphone market. There were even rumours they would withdraw from the mobile market all together.

But it turns out these were just rumours as it now seems that the company is pressing ahead with new phones and even has some prototypes available to test. Microsoft have said they want to bring a ‘new user experience’ with these devices. This suggests that they are planning to alter the operating system somewhat from the Windows 10 Mobile version available today. This may well mean that the current range of Windows 10 mobile Apps will not work with the new phones but no doubt Microsoft will be making the devices compatible with Windows 10.
