Malicious software can easily find its way onto your PC, and start using your web browser to collect data. To combat this problem, Google have developed a tool that will check the settings of your Chrome browser, and look if any programs have modified them, or installed themselves in the browser. Since the toolbars and browser add-ons are not normal malware, they can be missed by your regular anti-virus software. Chrome Cleanup Tool is specifically designed to find programs and components whose installation resulted in modifications to Chrome’s settings, providing you with a simple means to reset them. The application does not require installation and starts looking for suspicious programs as soon as you launch it. The number of problems found are displayed in a small window, along with an option to remove them all, but their names are not shown to prevent modifications that might cause Chrome Cleanup Tool not to work properly.
