1 GB or more RAM is nowadays normal for most PCs and laptops. RAM is the fastest memory store available inside your PC. In normal operation, everything that your CPU needs to work on is found in the RAM: parts of the operating system, drivers, applications, documents and much more. Unfortunately, the default RAM configuration on Windows 7, Vista and XP is more conservative than it needs to be in order to work on any possible PC setup, which means that valuable resources are often wasted. Use the possibilities that Windows offers to optimise RAM, in order to speed-up performance and make your PC run more smoothly.
