7-Zip is a file archive with a high compression ratio; the new 7z format is 30-50% better than the ratio in ZIP format. 7-Zip also provides a compression ratio that is 2-10 % better than the ratio provided by PKZip and WinZip when creating ZIP files. The program supports unpacking of 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB formats. 7-Zip integrates with Windows Shell and can self-extract 7z files.
