The Windows XP/2000 Boot Manager gets its information from the BOOT.INI file. All versions of the Windows Operating Systems (OS) installed on your system are registered and managed there. If you try to start your computer with a damaged BOOT.INI file, you will receive an error message such as Invalid BOOT.INI or Windows could not start and nothing will work. You wont even be able to start Windows in Safe Mode. This article, however, may just save the day. You will learn how to understand BOOT.INI and if necessary how to repair it, as well as managing dual-boot or multiple Operating Systems with it!
