Improving Your PC’s Service Performance in 2000/XP

To ensure that your computer runs reliably, Windows uses a number of specialised programs. These programs are called Services and run in the background. Whenever you boot your PC a number of Services launch automatically. Some Services demand large amounts of your computer’s resources, which can affect its performance. Disabling the Services you don’t need can therefore improve the overall performance of your PC. You can also fix some system problems that your computer may be suffering from, by looking closely at the Services that relate to the area of your computer that has a problem.
