Group Policy Editor for Advanced System Management

Users of Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise, Windows Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate, and XP Professional all have a tool included on their system which allows them to apply a wide-range of security settings and policies to their system. While it is primarily intended for use by administrators of large networks of PCs, the Group Policy Editor can also help home users to apply security settings to their PCs. The Group Policy Editor allows for security policies to be developed which restrict what actions different groups of users can perform, specifically to prevent them from compromising the security of the system. Unfortunately, the Group Policy Editor isnt available for versions of Windows other than those listed above, but if you do have a qualifying version, we definitely recommend you boost the security of your PC by following the steps in this article.
