If you work in an office or use a computer in another public place, it’s a good idea to lock the machine if you leave it unattended, so that no one else can access it.
To do so, you can create a quick desktop shortcut that immediately locks your PC once clicked.
To do so, click on a blank area of the desktop and choose New > Shortcut. In the location field in the new shortcut wizard, type in the following: %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation and click Next.
Enter a name for your shortcut (e.g. Lock Workstation) and click Finish. When you double-click the shortcut, your PC’s screen will be locked and you will need to enter your Windows password to unlock it.
