Vista: Solve Compatibility Problems with a Free XP Mode

If youve taken a look at the features of Windows 7 youll have come across the Windows 7 XP mode, available in the high-end Windows 7 versions, which uses Microsoft Virtual PC to create a full virtual machine environment, running a full Windows XP system. In effect, this is like a whole XP PC being available inside your Windows 7 system. Software that is incompatible with Windows 7 can be run in this XP environment without any problems. Unfortunately, Microsoft doesnt make such a system available for Windows Vista, but, if you have an XP installation CD to hand, we will show you how to set one up, using only free tools available on this website. While our examples show you how to set up the virtual machine using Windows XP, you can do this for whatever Windows version your software is compatible with, meaning that any software can be run on your Vista system without any problems, no matter how old it is.
